A wintery spring – a student film of the Isle of May 2013 spring

IMG_3769 (Small)Spring 2013 was exceptionally cold and late. We had thick snow on 30 March, snow covering the surrounding hills well in April and the birds started breeding very late. Quite a contrast to this years much warmer, earlier one.

Mark Travers, a film student captured the spring and its effects on the seabirds on the island in an excellent short film that he made as part of his college course. You can watch his film by following the link below and clicking on “the wintery Spring ” and see the difference a year can make.
