Great excitement here on the island. Yesterday we found our first grey seal pup for the season. There was a female hanging around the place where we expected the first pup and Chantal and I checked first thing in the morning but no sign. But by 1500 a pup was born and actually spotted first by some visitors that had come over on the May Princess. It certainly made their day.
At the moment the pup is in a good place for viewing on our open weekend on 27 and 28 September, if it stays there we will have telescopes set up so that everyone can get a clear look. So if you fancy a trip over the the May to see the start of Seal Season and check up on how this little chap is growing that get booking a ticket. Boats will be running from North Berwick (the Scottish Seabird Centre) and from Anstruther (May Princess and Rib Osprey).
