It is absolutely howling it out here at the moment. A really strong south-easterly that has whipped up a big swell that is thundering onto the south end of the island. It is amazing how quickly a wind coming across the North Sea can pick up a swell, so far it has peaked at 3.5m which is quite impressive if you imagine standing next to it.
So we are hunkered down at the moment but as it drops later in the day with the usual blind optomism of a birder we will be heading out to see what interesting birds have been blown in. And yes we will keep you posted.
