Saturday 27th June comments: The weekend is upon us and the first of a double header for the Isle of May arrived; our Seabird Open Day 2015. And what a day! As if planned, the weather changed (glorious wall-to-wall sunshine), the birds performed well, and the visitors arrived in good numbers.
With everything from learning about the lives of our Arctic Tern (the longest distant bird migrant in the world!) to seeing Puffin ringing in action, we had the lot. The day was a huge success and more the same tomorrow please!
If you want to enjoy the sight of a spectacular seabird colony, I fully recommend a visit to the Isle of May and I don’t say that lightly. It is amazing – come and visit to see for yourself, you wont be disappointed.
