Friday 12th February comments: The Isle of May is simply a stunning place. Wheather its peace and tranquillity, exploring an island, our industrial heritage or the impressive wildlife, the May has it all. This year we open our doors on Saturday 26th March and boats will sail daily (weather dependant) until 2nd October.
It’s free to visit the nature reserve, but you must take a boat trip to reach the island and sailings are on the privately-run May Princess or Osprey from Anstruther Harbour or through the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick.
Anstruther – for tickets and details, see www.isleofmayferry.com (May Princess)
And this year is a special year as we’ve got lots to celebrate including 60 years as a National Nature Reserve and 200 years since the construction of the main lighthouse. We’ve got some big news about both so keep logging in and checking the blog!
