Wednesday 2nd November comments: It’s been a cracking season and we’re delighted to announce that it was a record breaking year for visitors. The number of people visiting the island topped the previous record and we wish to thank everyone who visited as the support is not only valuable but important for our work.
The season has seen some important landmarks from celebrating 60 years as a National Nature Reserve (NNR) to 200 years since the construction of the Stevenson lighthouse. We’ve also had some great weather, good sea states (the important bit) and of course the stars of the show; the stunning wildlife. So thank-you everyone for visiting and long may it continue.
We’d also like to thank all the team who make it happen, from the skippers of the three boats (Alex, Roy and Brian) to the crews (Simon, Stef, Ed, Jack, Caroline and James) who provide first-class service bringing our visitors over. Although our season isn’t over yet, we are already looking forward to next year. Hopefully we’ll see you out here.
