Friday 11th November comments: Yesterday we brought you some images of the Grey Seal colonies across the south of the island and today we’re bringing you a number of images from the north of the island as the seals have taken over.

 

Its great to see the vast number of pups scattered across the isle and we are starting to see a number of second-coat pups wandering as they are now independent and ready to go. As you would expect, the colonies are noisy and active (not forgetting smelly!) places as the activity of raising young pups continues.

As youngster start to depart, the bull seals are arriving in bigger numbers and sporadic fighting occasionally breaks out, as the mating season is just around the corner. Its never dull on a Seal colony…
