A glorious day on the glorious May

Monday 27th March comments: The big day finally arrived as the reserve team moved back onto the Isle of May for a new season. An early start to proceedings eventually saw the boat packed with food, kit and equipment for the new season before departing Anstruther in Fife in a glorious conditions.

We couldn’t have asked for a better start as the sun was shining and the sea was mirror calm. We arrived back on the May just before lunch-time and then spent time moving the kit up to the buildings. The mild conditions also brought in thousands of seabirds, with huge numbers of Puffins to greet our arrival.

We’ll not prepare the island for human visitors as we open our doors on Saturday, so we have plenty of work to do before then. As usual we’ll keep you posted with all the latest comings and goings on the May so stay tuned in!
