Saturday 1st April comments; NARWHAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAGGERING!!!!!! We’ve just seen a NARWHAL break the surface twice this morning on the east side of the Isle of May. The animal from the high arctic is very distinct as it has a single ‘tusk’ and is easily identified as such.

Only a few British records exist and we are delighted to see such an animal in our waters. With reports of a potential other animal further north, we are hoping that there may be a breeding attempt and Narwals may become a feature of the Firth of Forth. We’ll keep you posted…
