Saturday 3rd August comments: We are delighted to announce that the main Stevenson Lighthouse will now be open every day! An extraordinary chance to see inside one of Scotland’s most elaborate lighthouses, with curved doors to brass fittings. You can wonder the board room which now displays the lighthouse and Northern Lighthouse Boards’ history on the Isle of May and beyond.
This year we have collaborated with the Pittenweem Arts Festival to exhibit local artists’ work in the first floor rooms. We are showcasing over 30 pieces of arts; all related to the island and surrounding coastal environment.
The Pittenweem Art festival is now in its 37th year and displays work from over 100 artists around the coastal village, from the local library, houses to garages. We are also on the route. So if you are interested and wanting to complete the whole event then a trip out to the Isle of May is definitely worth a visit.
