We have always said that the island is special but the word is obviously getting out to the great and good now as Bill Murray, the Hollywood actor, had heard what a brilliant place the island is and decided he wanted to visit. He is in St.Andrews at the moment to play golf in the Dunhill Links Pro-Am competition. So Roy, now known as “boatman to the stars” brought him and his friends out on the RIB Osprey, showed them the seals on Rona for the boat and then we took a quick walk up to the Mainlight to take in the view. He asked loads of questions, was especially taken with the island ghost stories and was great company. A fleeting but very pleasant visit, and though he did make the assumption that Bex and I were married, I think he had been set up by Roy.
