HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE
FROM THE ISLE OF MAY
Sunday 12th April comments: In a ‘normal’ year we would be celebrating the Easter weekend on the island with plenty of Puffins, seabirds and visitors. However as we all know, world events means we are currently not open. So we thought we would bring the Egg-stravaganza to you in your home! So below are eight eggs of species which nest on the Isle of May. If you scroll down we also have the eight seabirds, but what you have to is to match the egg to the bird!
So if you were walking across the island and stumbled across the nest, which bird would it belong to. Remember this is all just for fun and the photographs were taken by staff licenced and authorised to take the photos of the eggs. GOOD LUCK!
So there are the eight eggs (and sorry for the last one – it was discovered predated) but good luck, its not easy…. and here are the birds (but not in order of their eggs above!)
Birds 1 and 2: Oystercatcher and Puffin
Birds 3 and 4: Eider and Shag
Birds 4 and 5: Herring Gull and Guillemot
Birds 6 and 7 Sandwich tern and Arctic tern
GOOD LUCK and the answers will appear later today!
